We are a fandom-driven community primarily made up of creators, fans, and - of course - gamers, but we welcome all manner of Emmcanis/Dragon Age fans.✦ Do you only allow Emmcanis content?
While the majority of server content will be Emmcanis focused, we have general chat channels and do welcome members sharing their other Dragon Age work. We also have a channel for general Dragon Age discussions and a shared channel for alternative pairing discussions for the multi-shippers, but we expect the majority of content to be Lucanis, Emmrich, or Emmcanis focused (with exceptions for Spite & Manfred, who we can all agree come part and parcel).✦ Is the server age restricted?
Yes, you must be 18+ years old to join the server.✦ What content is allowed?
We consider ourselves to be a ‘don’t like don’t engage’ server. While we have implemented NSFW channels and a content tagging system, we expect members to be able to manage their comfort and interactions. However, staff are of course on hand to assist with any conflict or situations that require intervention.✦ Do you run events?
Yes! This server actually started as an Emmcanis event-specific server, but interest prompted it to become a full-time Emmcanis discord. As events and fan community engagement is the lifeblood of any fandom, we intend to run regular events and activities to keep the Emmcanis love alive. You can see our Events page for more information.✦ Can only server members join events?
While we may run smaller server-exclusive events, the majority of our events will be shared on our social media and open to anyone interested in joining.✦ My question wasn’t answered here.

Emmcanis Minibang

Event Rules

1. By joining the event, Authors and Artists acknowledge and agree to commit to the event requirements.2. We do not impose content restrictions on creators, but when submitting their fic summaries writers must explicitly state any content warnings they have or intend to include. This is so artists can be fully informed about the work they are choosing to collaborate on.3. Writers acknowledge this is a collaborate event and not simply a means to get free art for their fic. Writers and Artists will treat each other with respect and not make demands of each others fanwork.4. All participants must be aware that a match is not always guaranteed. While we will endeavour to pair every writer with an artist, insufficient numbers or other factors can make this impossible. However, we would still encourage any writer or artist to continue the challenge, as there will be plenty of fans eager to cheer you over the finish line!5. All conflicts that cannot be solved between pairs should be brought to the moderators attention.6. Minors (Under 18s) cannot join the event with the intent to publish (sexual) NSFW content.7. Generative AI is not permitted in this event. Writing and Artwork should be solely your own work. Any participant discovered to have used AI will be removed from this and all subsequent Mourning Coffee events.8. No work can be shared outside the designated event channels in the Mourning Coffee Discord server until the posting period of the event.

What is a Minibang?
A minibang is a collaborative event where writers and artists are paired up to create new fanworks within a specified time frame. Unlike a traditional Big Bang event, a minibang has a smaller word count requirement.How does a Minibang work?

Writers will:
- Develop a fic concept.
- Write a min. of 10k - 15k words by the end of the creation period.
- Share drafts of their fic with their artist-collaborator throughout the creation period.Artists will:
- Choose from fic summaries which one they're most interested in.
- Will get in touch with their writer-collaborator for more info/a current draft of their fic.
- Create a refined/detailed line art illustration or fully rendered illustration.

Can I join as a writer and artist?
Yes, you can absolutely sign-up to be both a writer and artist, but it's your responsibility to manage your time and capabilities; you will have to create your fic and your art piece within the same creation period as everyone else.What is Emmcanis?
Emmcanis is the most widely recognised ship-name for Emmrich Volkarin x Lucanis Dellamorte from Dragon Age: The Veilguard.Can my work only feature Emmrich Volkarin & Lucanis Dellamorte?
Your work can include any canon or OC characters, including Rooks, Inquisitors, or DA Original Characters. You can also include mentions of past relationships involving Lucanis and/or Emmrich. However, the main pairing/end game should be Emmrich/Lucanis, as is the nature of the event.Can we include poly-ships?
We appreciate and support all manners of relationship dynamics, but we would only consider Spite to be a viable third party in this event.Do I have to join the discord server?
While we do welcome new members and have a dedicated event section and channels for participating writers and artists, joining the Mourning Coffee Discord is not a requirement. But we do suggest following mourningcoffeediscord either on tumblr or bluesky for the duration of the event so you can stay up to date.Due to unforeseen circumstances, I can no longer complete my fic/art piece, what do I do?
Let us know ASAP. If you need an extension we can work something out, but if you definitely cannot complete the work for whatever reason, we may be able to get a Reserve Creator to fill in.What's a Reserve Creator?
A Reserve Creator (or Pinch-hitter) is a writer or artist who has volunteered to fulfill a fic or art piece in the event a participant drops out.How do I join?
You must sign-up via our registration forms during the scheduled sign-up periods. However, you can express interest in being a reserve artist or writer at any time by getting in touch via our social media.
